We are so thankful for our FoodCorps educator, Ms. Carpenter! She teaches our students about nutritious foods and brings unique, hands-on learning opportunities to our school. Ms. Carpenter also cares for our Walker garden, where our Wildcats love exploring and tasting fresh produce. Our students were especially excited to try carrots pulled straight from the garden! 🥕🌱 #SpringdaleFamily

Our students are beyond excited to have TubeLox sets available for hands-on engineering challenges during STEAM time and indoor recess! These building opportunities spark creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in such a fun way. Our 5th graders were thrilled to learn from Dr. Katherine Auld of NWA Space! Dr. Kate, an expert in space and planetary science and a NASA Solar System Ambassador, inspired students by sharing her work and experiences as a scientist. It was a memorable and meaningful way to wrap up our Earth & Space Sciences unit! Thank you Dr. Kate! #SpringdaleFamily

We were honored to welcome our newest members into the Walker Elementary Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society this afternoon. Congratulations to these Wildcats! You exemplify the pillars of responsibility, scholarship, service, and leadership. We are so proud of you! #SpringdaleFamily

Our 5th graders took their understanding of gravity to the next level during STEAM today! After learning how balancing artists use gravity to create stunning masterpieces, students put their knowledge into action. Using stacking rocks and the game Suspend, they engineered their own creative balancing designs—testing stability, problem-solving, and a lot of perseverance along the way. What an exciting hands-on way to see science and art collide! 🎨⚖️ #SpringdaleFamily

Our Wildcats had a wonderful morning exploring our schoolwide Living Museum! Crystal Bridges led an interactive art experience, and master gardener Marty Powers, dressed as Johnny Appleseed, brought history and storytelling to life. Students visited exhibits on culture, animals, the human body, technology, and earth sciences, all designed to spark curiosity and wonder. Our 3rd grade GT students shined in their biography wax museum, sharing their research and parading through the Pre-K and kindergarten hall to inspire our youngest Wildcats. We even had a special appearance from Mr. Charles Peek, who stopped by to cheer them on! #SpringdaleFamily

Thank you, Mr. Peek, for being such an amazing partner to our school! Mr. Peek is a storm chaser who works for the Weather Channel. He lives right here in Springdale, but travels all over the United States to cover severe weather. He shared valuable insights with our students about his work. Our 3rd graders are learning about weather. They study patterns in weather conditions, how scientists collect data, and how we use that information to make predictions. Mr. Peek’s real-world experiences helped bring those concepts to life! #SpringdaleFamily

ROAR celebrated our students and parents this evening by inviting them to join in on the fun! Families were able to play games with their kids, and take home bags with activities so they can continue the fun at home! #SpringdaleFamily #ROAR #21CCLC

Our 5th graders had an amazing experience with Apple Seeds today in the Wonder Lab! Students cooked a delicious veggie skillet and even took home ingredient packs so they can recreate the meal with their families. Thank you, Apple Seeds, for your continued partnership and for helping our Wildcats grow healthy habits! 🥕🌱 #SpringdaleFamily
